As noted in previous Bulletins, the Catholic Church has begun to celebrate the Year of St. Paul. Paul was born around 8 AD. So this year is the bi-millennial celebration of his birth. This year then is an appropriate time to study the Letters of St. Paul. Thus all our Bible Study this year will be focused on Paul. The early Christian communities with whom Paul shared his life and preaching anticipated receiving a letter from him. They found courage, guidance and consolation in his words. These same letters have been central to the Church's teachings throughout the centuries up to the present day.
They speak to our own needs today as they have done for Christians down through the ages. The first part of the study of Paul will begin shortly. It will include 5 sessions:
- September 29
- October 6
- October 13
- October 20
- October 27
For your convenience each session will take place twice: 1:15—2:30 PM and 7:30—9:00 PM. The sessions take place in the "Annex" on 244th Street & Northern Blvd. Admission is free.
The book with the Letters of Paul with commentary is $5.00 for those who wish to purchase it.
It is my hope that the life and words of St. Paul will enliven our hearts and stir up our relationship with God so that , like Paul, Jesus Christ will be truly the Lord of our lives.
