Scouting at St. Anastasia is ready to start up this year's program for boys and the young men in the community. As always, it will be a year that is jam-packed with fun, activity and learning. Scouting is a program that provides the Scout Oath and Law as a moral compass for our young people, and opportunities to develop leadership skills along the way.
The older Boy Scouts will begin meeting on 9/12, at 4:30 in Father Smith Hall (FSH). If you are a young man in the sixth grade to age 18, you are welcome to visit to check things out - Troop 153 has a GREAT program. Scouting has an interesting web site to review with your parents. With their permission, you can visit there often.
Cub Scouting is an ideal program for a young boy (First grade to grade five). Activities are proposed that are fun for all. We help other people, we get outdoors and go camping, and we enjoy the simple pleasures, at home, and as a group in our den meetings. We celebrate our successes with the whole family in our monthly Pack meetings! We help the Pack go and grow.
The schedule for this year's Cub Scout recruitment drive is for all new boys and their parents to come and learn about the program, on 9/19 or 9/26 at 6:15 in FSH. There is no obligation for these first meetings. Learn about what fun there is for your son by looking at www.scouting.org and come and ask questions about Pack 153.
Additionally, the Cub Pack Committee meets on 9/12 and the Cub Scout Leaders meet on 9/19 to help formulate plans for a fun and exciting year to come! The initial den meetings for the boys begin on 9/26. Please touch base with Mr. Cordes for details.
Our parish Scouting program is open to all boys in the community. For more information on joining, contact our Scouting Representative. We look forward to welcoming you!
The parish reaches out to the entire community by hosting Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Our Scout programs represent the parish as the sponsor of its community service activities, like food drives, nursing home visits, taking part in Memorial Day service and parade, helping with parish chores, etc. We foster character development and dedication to the central themes of God, nation, and local community. Our fun and exciting activities (including camping) are run over 12 months. Information about joining and summer time activities can be obtained by calling the parish representative,
